Business Development Lead - US Law Firm
We are seeking a highly experienced and well-educated Business Development Lead to join our Marketing team and lead the entire Marketing/BD function for our successful and award-winning international law firm.
Duties will include:
- Leading traditional business development activities, including pitch, client team, response to RFP, and research/competitive intelligence projects, liaising with other firm departments.
- Pitch and RFP activity is a significant component of the role, requiring comfort working directly with lawyers to produce responsive documents and leveraging off-the-shelf/precedent materials.
- Coaching lawyers on key themes, talking points, organization/structure of meetings, and analysis of competitors as necessary.
- Leading practice and industry meetings focused on business development, preparing meeting agendas, tracking action items, and maintaining trackers for business development activities.
- Supporting the overall maintenance of marketing collateral and databases/systems, including learning processes for content management and engaging with lawyers about their matter pipelines.
- Supporting the overall maintenance of marketing activity databases, including reporting substantive notes and outcomes.
- Collaborating with the events function to develop targeted mailing lists for specific uses.
- Participating in departmental and team discussions, developing trusted advisor relationships with partners and counsel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- At least 8 years' experience in business development within a law firm or professional services organization.
