Indirect Buyer - Engineering Services

We are seeking a highly skilled Indirect Buyer to join our Indirect Procurement team in Woking. As the Indirect Buyer for Engineering Services, you will be responsible for the overall commercial management of your elements of the Engineering Services spend.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify commercial opportunities and develop sourcing strategies within the Engineering Services expenditure category.
  • Support the Category Manager in delivering agreed strategic objectives in line with the Product Development strategy and relevant Business Plans.
  • Provide expertise in the Engineering Services sourcing category, including market knowledge and sourcing best practice.
  • Help define and deliver the Engineering Services category plans and identify appropriate sourcing strategies that generate benefits and achieve financial savings while mitigating risk for McLaren.
  • Ensure Engineering Services contracts, including annual renewals, are managed appropriately.
  • Implement contractual safeguards, SLAs, and other operational measures to ensure vendors are incentivized to deliver a robust service.
Requirements:
  • Well-developed negotiation skills in the Engineering Services category, underpinned by detailed contract knowledge.
  • Adept at handling multiple projects and contracts concurrently.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations and support in the development of negotiation strategies for large and complex projects and contracts in Engineering Services.
  • The ability to combine professional project management and procurement skills on large-scale technology projects.
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and controlling contractual documentation, ideally for waterfall and AGILE development projects.
  • Excellent level of communication skills to support cross-departmental and stakeholder liaison.
