About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Engineer to join our team at OpenTable, a leading provider of online restaurant reservations and table management solutions. As a Senior Android Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our award-winning Android app, which is used by millions of diners worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new features for our Android app, including user interface and user experience enhancements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Web Engineers, Product Designers, Product Managers, QA Testers, and Data Scientists, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and performant Android code, adhering to industry best practices and OpenTable's coding standards
  • Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and mentor junior engineers to ensure continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
  • Work closely with the engineering manager to prioritize tasks, set goals, and drive the team's technical roadmap
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Android app development, with a strong focus on Kotlin and Java
  • Proven track record of designing and developing high-quality, scalable, and performant Android apps
  • Excellent understanding of Android architecture, including MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI/UX principles, including Material Design and Android Jetpack
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
