About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Engineer to join our team at Sainsbury's. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing large-scale high-performance Android apps using the latest technologies such as Kotlin and Jetpack frameworks.

You will work closely with our cross-functional team to drive the product technical roadmap, leveraging your expertise in software design and implementation, testing, security, and CI/CD. Your passion for delivering solutions to customers and owning the whole Software Development Lifecycle will be essential in this role.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be a role model for best practices, championing a customer-centric mindset and a passion for finding creative ways to solve problems. You will also mentor fellow engineers and contribute to the entire product development lifecycle, from roadmap to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop large-scale high-performance Android apps using Kotlin and Jetpack frameworks
  • Drive the product technical roadmap and contribute to the entire product development lifecycle
  • Mentor fellow engineers and champion best practices
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions to customers

Requirements:

  • Expertise in Kotlin and modern Android development
  • Strong knowledge of architectural patterns (MVVM, Clean architectural)
  • Proven experience in software design and implementation, testing, security, and CI/CD
  • Passion for delivering solutions to customers and owning the whole Software Development Lifecycle
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
