About Avara Foods
Avara Foods is a leading food business in the UK, supplying chicken and turkey to major supermarkets and restaurants. We have a strong presence in England and Wales, with processing sites and an agricultural network of over 350 farms.
We're committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety across our operations. As a result, we're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Hygiene Manager to join our Production Team at our Scropton site near Hatton, Derbyshire.
The role will involve managing and supporting the Hygiene team, ensuring that all aspects of hygiene are maintained to the highest standards. This includes coordinating team activities, maintaining audit-ready hygiene standards, and providing training and development for the team.
As a key member of our Production Team, you'll be working closely with colleagues to ensure that our facilities meet the required hygiene and safety standards. You'll also be responsible for ordering and maintaining levels of cleaning chemicals and equipment, as well as conducting COSHH assessments and risk assessments.
To be successful in this role, you'll need experience in a FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environment, with knowledge of hygiene from either a hygiene or production background. You should also have strong people management skills, be confident in motivating teams, and have a positive and proactive attitude.
In return, you can look forward to a competitive salary of £35,000-£42,500 per annum, depending on your experience, as well as a range of benefits including 31 days' annual leave, company-matched pension contributions, and access to our Employee Benefit Scheme.
