Job Title: Consultant Histopathologist

Medacs Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Histopathologist to join our team at York Hospital. As a Consultant Histopathologist, you will be responsible for providing a diagnostic consultation and advisory service to clinical colleagues in the network and primary care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide histology reporting and advisory services to clinical colleagues
  • Develop close collaborative links with clinicians working in your area of specialist expertise
  • Support reporting of systemic cytology associated with your sub-specialty area(s) of interest
  • Interact with clinicians and allied health professionals to provide pathological support and leadership
  • Participate in regular clinical meetings and other postgraduate activities
  • Supervise trainee pathologists and assist in their training and appraisal
  • Participate in clinical governance, risk management, and clinical audit
  • Register with and participate in the Royal College of Pathologists Continuing Professional Development programme
Requirements:
  • 12 months UK experience at Consultant level
  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Applicants must hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview
  • FRCPath or equivalent
  • MBBS/MB ChB or equivalent
