About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Stroke Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with stroke-related communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with stroke-related communication and swallowing disorders, using investigative and analytical skills to formulate individualized interventions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that promote patient-centered care, autonomy, and choice.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Provide specialist SLT services for individuals following stroke, including dysphagia management and communication support.
  • Share assessment outcomes and guidance with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective support and adaptation.
  • Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of high-quality Speech and Language Therapy services for adults following stroke.
  • Support and mentor rehabilitation support workers on the Lanyon ward.
