The CAD/CAM Designer is a key member of the Retail Furniture Ltd team, responsible for ensuring the efficient creation and management of manufacturing data for furniture items. This role requires a strong understanding of CAD/CAM systems, design rule checks, and manufacturing guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Import customer data into various CAM systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with manufacturing guidelines.
  • Perform design rule checks and edit data to meet manufacturing requirements, utilizing expertise in CAD/CAM tooling software.
  • Collaborate with process management to evaluate and implement strategies for advanced processing, driving efficiency and quality improvements.
  • Communicate design issues and solutions to account management, ensuring seamless collaboration and issue resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the Retail Furniture Ltd team.

Organizational Relationships:

The CAD/CAM Designer reports to the Production and Machine Shop Management, working closely with all departments, particularly manufacturing, to ensure effective coordination and communication.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A university degree or 5 years' experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of furniture construction manufacturing and CAD/CAM tooling software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with management and other team members.

Physical Demands:

The CAD/CAM Designer must be able to communicate effectively with management and colleagues, with regular use of the telephone and email for communication. Sitting for extended periods is common, and normal hearing and vision are essential for conversations and document preparation.
