About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate and Nature Manager to join our team at Climate17 | B Corp®. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about nature, biodiversity, and carbon offsetting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and project leading high-quality nature-led carbon offset projects, with a focus on long-term carbon removal and positive biodiversity impact. They will also support wider sustainable development projects across our sustainability strategy, including climate, waste, water, people, and communities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify, develop, and manage suitable high-quality nature-based carbon offset projects.
  • Tracking the progress of nature investment projects against the desired principles of the offsetting strategy, reporting periodically to senior stakeholders.
  • Preparing and delivering high-quality papers to advance the sustainability agenda, such as target development, progress of carbon offset/biodiversity projects, carbon and net zero targets, wider sustainability topics, and research.
  • Providing insights and input on the Group and operating companies' sustainability strategies.
  • Working with the Sustainable Development Manager and wider team to engage, support, and manage sustainability topics across the group and its Operating Companies.
  • Building effective relationships with colleagues to productively execute the sustainable development strategy.
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest trends and developments within the sustainability arena relating to nature, biodiversity, and carbon.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in sustainability, preferably from a large, complex international organisation. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in a related discipline, such as environmental science, sustainability, sciences, carbon finance, or business/project management.

Key requirements include:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a sustainability-related field.
  • Understanding of carbon offsetting and biodiversity markets, certification methodologies, project development, and financial fundamentals.
  • Good financial acumen with experience in project management, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with good written skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
  • Adaptable with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
