About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Coordinator to join our finance team at W. & I. Craig (Civil Engineering) Ltd. in a support role for our day-to-day transactions, including expenses and management reporting activities.

The Financial Operations Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Recording and processing financial transactions, including payments, invoices, and expenses, using Xero accounting software.
  • Verifying the accuracy of financial records, including supplier ledgers, customer ledgers, and the general ledger, and completing bank and other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Managing accounts receivable and payable ledgers, including credit control and cash flow management.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and aged receivables reporting.
  • Preparing VAT returns and supporting on data capture for weekly payroll processing.
  • Assisting with the preparation of supporting documentation for the annual financial accounts, R&D claims, and corporation tax returns.
  • Providing administrative support, including reception duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Data entry skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Proficiency with cloud-based bookkeeping software (Xero) required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Accounting qualification (desirable).
