Position Overview:

Our client, a Primary School, is seeking a full-time 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant. In this essential role, you will provide personalized support to SEN students throughout the school, aiding their academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver individualized support and guidance to SEN students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and behavioural challenges, both within and outside the classroom.
  • Implement tailored learning strategies and interventions that cater to the specific needs of each student, fostering their academic success and personal growth.
  • Assist students in developing essential social skills, emotional regulation, and coping mechanisms to thrive in the school environment and engage positively with peers and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to ensure a cohesive approach to addressing the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive educational atmosphere where every student feels valued and empowered to achieve their potential.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviours.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the varied needs of SEN students, including those with complex behavioural challenges.
  • Adaptability and resilience to effectively manage challenging situations and provide meaningful support in a dynamic educational setting.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to make a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable children.
