About the Role:
Our client, a leading manufacturer and wholesaler of FMCG products, is seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Health and Safety standards across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive Health and Safety policies and procedures across all sites.
- Review and implement emergency planning and evacuation procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide expert Health and Safety advice and guidance to all levels of the business, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop risk management plans, including COSHH assessments, to mitigate potential hazards.
- Design and deliver Health and Safety training programs, assisting in staff inductions and ensuring all employees are equipped to work safely.
- Monitor and review Health and Safety performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant Health and Safety legislation and industry best practices, ensuring the organization remains compliant and competitive.
- Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders on Health and Safety issues, fostering strong relationships and ensuring a proactive approach to risk management.
- Lead Health and Safety committees and other relevant forums, driving a culture of safety and responsibility within the organization.
- Work closely with the team to conduct regular internal audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Hold a relevant NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) and possess extensive working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work regulations.
- Hold a UK driving license, with a willingness to commute to other business locations as required.
- Possess very good general IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
