Aerothermal Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Aerothermal Engineer to join our team at Williams, a leading Formula One team. As an Aerothermal Engineer, you will play a key role in driving improvements in our brake and tyre thermal management predictions using information from our state-of-the-art CFD department, Wind Tunnel, and Testing Facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within the team responsible for corner thermal development, including brake duct and internal components, brake disc and caliper design, and validation.
- Collaborate with the Surfacing team to achieve high surface quality.
- Liaise with the CFD department to develop our model capability.
- Work with the Aero Development teams to improve overall car performance.
- Develop and correlate models with Vehicle Performance and Vehicle Dynamics.
- Support rig testing and analysis of concepts.
- Manage end-to-end CFD thermal projects, including data reporting and ideas publication.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of heat transfer and fluid mechanic fundamentals.
- Experience using OpenFOAM and StarCCM+ for thermal simulations.
- Knowledge of CAD surfacing and programming skills.
- Good project management skills and strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
