Williams is seeking an experienced Aerothermal Engineer to join its Aerodynamics department. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving improvements in brake and tyre thermal management predictions using information from the company's state-of-the-art CFD department, Wind Tunnel, and Testing Facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement thermal management strategies for brake and tyre systems.
  • Collaborate with the Surfacing team to achieve high surface quality.
  • Liaise with the materials department to ensure optimal performance in all aspects.
  • Work closely with the Aero Development teams to improve overall car performance.
  • Develop and correlate models with Vehicle Performance and Vehicle Dynamics.
  • Support rig testing and analysis of thermal concepts.
  • Manage end-to-end CFD thermal projects, including data reporting and ideas publication.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of heat transfer and fluid mechanic fundamentals.
  • Experience using OpenFOAM & StarCCM+ for setting up thermal simulations.
  • Knowledge of CAD surfacing and programming skills.
  • Good project management skills and strong communication abilities.
  • Degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
