About the Role

Williams is seeking a highly skilled Aerothermal Engineer to join its Aerodynamics department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for driving improvements in brake and tyre thermal management predictions using information from state-of-the-art CFD department, Wind Tunnel, and Testing Facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement thermal management strategies to improve brake and tyre performance
  • Collaborate with the Surfacing team to achieve high surface quality and optimize aerodynamic performance
  • Liaise with the CFD department to develop and refine thermal simulation models
  • Work closely with the Aero Development teams to improve overall car performance and thermal efficiency
  • Develop and maintain thermal models and simulations to support vehicle development and testing
  • Support rig testing and analysis of thermal concepts and ideas
  • Manage and coordinate thermal projects, including data reporting and publication
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer and fluid mechanics fundamentals
  • Experience with thermal simulation software, such as OpenFOAM and StarCCM+
  • Proficiency in CAD surfacing and programming languages
  • Good project management and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and develop strong relationships with colleagues
  • Degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
