Purpose of Role

The EU Project Support Analyst is instrumental in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's (EBRD) collaboration with the European Union in the Neighbourhood South region. This position emphasizes the facilitation of EU-funded initiatives while also contributing to monitoring, financial analysis, and other pertinent tasks associated with the EU portfolio.

Reporting to the Principal Manager of the EU Pillar, the Analyst will collaborate closely with colleagues across the EU Pillar, Donor Partnerships, the broader Client Services Group, and various other departments.

Key Responsibilities

The Analyst will have a significant role within the Donor Partnerships EU Pillar. Specifically, the Analyst will assist the Donor Partnerships team by maintaining a structured approach to transaction support and ensuring effective information exchange between Donor Partnerships and other EBRD divisions, as well as between the EBRD and the European Commission.


• Collaborate with the Principal Manager and team members to assist Banking teams in executing the NIP South portfolio.

• Prepare documentation and support the Principal Manager and colleagues in managing cross-Bank engagements.

• Oversee and manage information requests and reporting submissions, compiling and processing relevant data.

• Aid in regular negotiations with the European Commission, remaining informed of ongoing issues and maintaining accurate documentation.

• Coordinate with the Principal Manager and other departments to facilitate document requests during monitoring visits or external audits as needed.

• Monitor and track the disbursement of EU funds in SAP across various countries and sectors, liaising with the Banking team regarding earmarks and SAP fund management.

• Organize coordination, set agendas, and prepare presentations for both internal and external meetings related to the NIP South portfolio, adapting flexibly to new developments.

• In partnership with the Principal Manager and colleagues, cultivate and strengthen a network of operational contacts with key stakeholders in Brussels, EU Delegations, and across the Bank concerning EU-related matters.

Required Qualifications and Skills


• A Master's degree is essential. Experience in relevant fields such as business administration, international relations, development, economics, or finance is preferred.

• Relevant experience in the financial sector from an international financial institution, other international organizations, or the private sector is advantageous.

• A comprehensive understanding of the Bank's business model, strategies, policies, and organizational structure.

• Strong knowledge of and interest in the operations of EU institutions.

• Exceptional analytical skills are crucial, with the ability to distill and summarize data effectively.

• Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
