Position Summary:
In the role of Senior Tax Manager, you will play a crucial part within the tax division, overseeing a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients, which includes owner-managers and high net worth individuals. Your responsibilities will encompass all facets of tax compliance and strategic planning for your clients, ensuring they receive exemplary service.

Key Duties:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients, including owner-managers, high net worth individuals, and trusts.
  • Supervise the preparation and submission of Corporation Tax returns, VAT returns, and other annual tax compliance tasks, including P11Ds, employment-related securities returns, EMI returns, and ATED returns.
  • Deliver expert tax planning advice, identifying opportunities for tax efficiencies.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their primary contact for all tax-related inquiries.
  • Collaborate closely with the tax partner and be an integral member of the tax team.
  • Guide and mentor junior tax team members, acting as a line manager and providing support on their workloads and professional growth.


Qualifications and Experience:

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant experience in a tax management position, preferably within a top 50 accountancy firm or larger independent firm.
  • Strong expertise in personal tax or a mixed tax background.
  • CTA and ATT qualifications are preferred but not mandatory, provided relevant experience is demonstrated.
  • Proven history of managing a varied client portfolio.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to provide tax planning advice and identify tax-saving opportunities for clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to cultivate lasting client relationships.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or mentoring capacity, with a commitment to developing junior team members.
