Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Advisory Professional to join our team at Carpenter Box. As a key member of our Tax Advisory Group, you will play a crucial role in providing tax advice to a wide range of clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients, ensuring timely and accurate clearance applications, enquiries, and other tax-related matters.
  • Draft comprehensive reports and letters of advice on tax advisory issues, providing expert guidance to clients.
  • Prepare detailed calculations to support tax advice, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality tax advisory services.
  • Train and review the work of junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Provide support to Directors and Partners in the Tax Advisory Group, contributing to the development of tax strategies and solutions.
Examples of Work
  • Assist in advising clients on corporate reconstructions, investor reliefs, staff incentive schemes, and other tax-related matters.
  • Provide guidance on remuneration planning, succession planning, and other tax advisory services for owner-managed businesses.
  • Prepare research & development claims, VAT returns, SDLT returns, and other tax-related documents for clients.
  • Advise individuals on IHT planning and CGT mitigation strategies.
Requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent IT skills, with proficiency in tax software and other relevant tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve tax-related issues.
  • Excellent teamwork and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • A keen interest in learning and developing tax knowledge, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
