Job Summary:

NHS Fife is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team in a Specialist role. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic services and contributing to the development of our department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rotating through various sections within the department, including core laboratory, special investigations laboratory, and blood bank.
  • Providing expert technical support and guidance to junior staff members.
  • Participating in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with UKAS accreditation and IBMS approval.
  • Developing and implementing new procedures and protocols to improve laboratory efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless integration of laboratory services.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • IBMS accredited Biomedical Science BSc Hons or similar qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overnight.
