Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated PMLD Support Assistant to join our team in a specialist educational environment focused on children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

We value experience in educational settings, particularly with SEND students, although candidates with relevant transferable skills from other sectors are also encouraged to apply.


Key Qualifications:
  • Experience working with young individuals
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
  • A passion for inspiring and supporting children
  • Interest in assisting young people with diverse SEND
  • Experience in supporting children with additional needs (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Ability to provide educational references
  • Willingness to engage in the broader school community

Understanding of Behavioral Management:

Your role will involve supporting the class teacher and fellow teaching assistants in the daily operations of the classroom. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting children during lessons and school activities
  • Providing support during lunch and break times
  • Managing personalized learning plans tailored to individual student needs
  • Delivering focused 1:1 or small group sessions
  • Collecting evidence of student progress to aid in assessments

Physical Management and Care:

As part of your role, you will also be responsible for the physical care and management of students.
