Job Title: Club Manager
Reporting Lines: Club Chairman (direct report) and Club Operations Committee (accountability and general reporting)
Job Purpose and Focus: A hands-on operational role, responsible for overseeing and directing operations and activities at the Club, managing and developing the staff team to achieve this aim.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the Club
- Developing and implementing effective HR strategies and staff training programs
- Managing financial planning and monitoring, including income, expenditure, and profitability
- Driving sales and marketing initiatives to increase revenue
- Overseeing finance functions, including payroll, expenses, banking, and payments
- Maintaining the Club's facilities and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Developing and delivering events and projects that enhance the Club's reputation and offerings
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, and members
- Coordinating volunteer schedules and ensuring adequate coverage
- Implementing the Executive Committee's strategic plan and ensuring the Club's operations align with its goals
- Identifying opportunities for efficiency and productivity improvements
Key Skills and Qualities:
- Excellent communication and persuasion skills
- A strong can-do attitude and enthusiasm for the role
- Effective problem-solving and motivation skills
- Resilience, calmness, and sound judgment in high-pressure situations
- Proven people management, motivation, and development skills
- Strong financial literacy and understanding of income, expenditure, and profitability
- Experience in sales and marketing, with a focus on driving revenue growth
- Proficiency in IT and communication systems
- Compliance with relevant regulations and laws
- Experience working in a leisure or sports environment, although not essential, is highly desirable
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
Education: A-Level or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- Retail sales experience: 2 years (preferred)
- Supervising experience: 3 years (preferred)
- Customer service experience: 3 years (preferred)
- Retail management experience: 3 years (preferred)
- Management experience: 3 years (required)
Work Location: On-site at Norfolk Snowsports Club
