Role Objective
The primary aim of this position is to evaluate the robustness and efficiency of the bank's internal control framework, thereby aiding in the reduction of risk and safeguarding the bank's operational, financial, and reputational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with diverse stakeholders throughout the bank and various business units to enhance overall control efficiency via comprehensive documentation of control evaluations, processes, and outcomes.
- Detect and analyze potential vulnerabilities and concerns within internal controls to foster ongoing enhancement and risk reduction in alignment with the bank's control framework, prioritized by the severity of potential disruptions to operations.
- Generate reports to convey significant findings from risk evaluations, including control deficiencies and suggestions to control owners, senior leadership, and other relevant parties.
- Conduct assessments to ascertain the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework in accordance with established and evolving policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with the Barclays Controls Framework and establish appropriate methodologies for evaluating controls against this framework.
- Provide counsel to key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, regarding functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
- Oversee and mitigate risks through assessments, supporting the control and governance agenda.
- Exhibit leadership and accountability in managing risk and reinforcing controls related to your team's activities.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of organizational functions to contribute to the achievement of business objectives.
- Collaborate with other operational areas to remain informed about business activities and strategies.
- Develop solutions based on advanced analytical thinking, comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative reasoning will be essential to identify issues and devise innovative solutions.
- Incorporate the results of extensive research into problem-solving processes.
- Establish and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve key business goals, utilizing influencing and negotiation skills to secure desired outcomes.
As a Finance CCO VP at Barclays, you will engage with a comprehensive range of Finance disciplines throughout the entire lifecycle of Entities and Finance Transaction Cycles, including financial and regulatory reporting, Treasury, Product Control, Valuations, and Planning & Stress Testing. You will be part of a supportive, collaborative global team, interacting with various stakeholders both within and outside of Barclays. This exciting role offers a wide-ranging experience that can significantly enhance your career.
