About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Support Worker to join our team and contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of medications to patients. This role is specifically focused on working within our busy Aseptic environment, where you will play a vital part in preparing high-quality Cytotoxic, Parenteral Nutrition, and CIVA products.
Your Responsibilities
- Aseptically prepare a range of critical medications according to strict departmental procedures, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and COSHH regulations. Ensure all work adheres to regulatory frameworks and standards.
- Prepare specific products under licensing regulations independently.
- Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and sterility by undertaking daily cleaning and disinfection of aseptic clean rooms, including Isolators and Laminar Flow Cabinets, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure ingredients and disposables are handled appropriately, ensuring proper assembly, disinfection, and transfer through the Aseptic Services Unit.
- Conduct pre- and in-process checks of aseptically prepared products after receiving appropriate training.
- Accurately label and package aseptically prepared products into final distribution containers, including protective bags.
- Prepare worksheets and labels for CIVAS products using the unit's computer system.
- Assist with documentation preparation within the aseptic unit, including data recording both manually and electronically.
- Provide prompt and polite telephone support, referring queries to the appropriate personnel.
- Support the Specialist/Senior/Chief Technician in ensuring staff, equipment, and process validation are completed according to SOPs.
- Assist the Specialist/Senior/Chief Technician in maintaining environmental monitoring standards of the Aseptic Unit, complying with QCNW and SOPs.
- Manage stock levels within the Aseptic Unit, evaluating stock levels and assisting the Storekeeper in ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
- Ensure all Environmental Monitoring plates are received and stored correctly to prevent contamination. Prepare environmental samples and documentation for dispatch to QCNW.
