Senior Reinsurance Accountant Opportunity

Oliver James is seeking a highly skilled Senior Reinsurance Accountant to join our team in London. As a key member of our client's finance team, you will be responsible for managing the Reinsurance Finance Close plan and reporting to the General Finance Close Manager.

We are looking for a professional with a strong understanding of the insurance/reinsurance industry and experience with finance interfaces, system chart of accounts, and analytical reviews. If you have a knowledge of Solvency II or IFRS 17 and have used systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, or DocuSign, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of the Reinsurance Finance Close plan and reporting
  • Management of Reinsurance Finance Interfaces and finance inputs
  • Ownership of the Reinsurance System Chart of accounts
  • Preparation and review of Reinsurance to GL reconciliations
  • Preparation of Subledger Reinsurance Journals including earnings
  • Preparation of all out of subledger system Reinsurance Journals (G/L journals)
  • Preparation of Reinsurance Analytical Reviews
  • Respond to Reinsurance Audit Queries related to the RI finance processes
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Knowledge and understanding of an insurance P&L
  • Knowledge of Solvency II or IFRS 17
  • Experience with systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, or DocuSign
