QinetiQ Mission Systems Team is a leading provider of advanced aviation mission planning, management, and Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) systems. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Functional Safety Specialist to join our team in Lincoln.
About the Role:
- Conduct thorough safety analyses on mission support systems to identify potential hazards and risks.
- Develop and maintain System Hazard Analysis Reports and System Safety Assessment Reports to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Manage and maintain System Hazard Logs to track and mitigate safety-related issues.
- Support the development of safety-related documentation and records management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into system design and development.
- Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols to ensure the safe operation of mission systems.
- Conduct regular safety audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on safety-related procedures and protocols.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in safety-critical systems engineering with a strong understanding of safety-related standards and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate safety risks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of Military Aviation Authority Regulations and experience in software-intensive systems.
- Experience with aviation mission planning and electronic flight bag applications.
- Stakeholder management experience in the Defence Air Environment.
