Manufacturing Director Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary Manufacturing Director to lead our heavy manufacturing operations in Lincolnshire. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for elevating our manufacturing operations, driving continuous improvement, and achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of production, quality control, and safety, leading a team of 7 direct reports and 250 indirect reports.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to enhance production efficiency and meet targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, supply chain, planning, and quality assurance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce costs, and improve operational performance.
  • Maintain adherence to all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Cultivate a culture of teamwork, accountability, and employee development.
  • Manage equipment, materials, and personnel to meet production demands cost-effectively.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve manufacturing performance and efficiency.
  • Drive initiatives to improve product quality and reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in manufacturing.
Requirements:
  • A strong foundation in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field, with an advanced degree or relevant certifications advantageous.
  • Substantial experience in leadership and management within heavy manufacturing sectors, such as rail, aerospace, or wind.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and achieve operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with manufacturing ERP systems and other relevant software tools.
  • Capability to lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering a culture of continuous innovation and learning.
