About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Distribution Centre Management team at Tesco as a Transport Team Manager. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading a team of colleagues to ensure great service to our stores, maintaining high standards of product availability, and operating an efficient and legal operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse data and information to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Deliver exceptional operating standards and ways of working across all areas of the Transport function.
  • Use the Transport systems to optimise operating routines and associated efficiencies.
  • Develop and implement the Transport improvement plan to drive sustainable improvements in performance and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the Transport operation and engage the team to deliver these improvements.
  • Deliver all Transport plans, KPIs, and resources to ensure delivery and sustainable improvements in performance and efficiency.
  • Champion change and share ideas to drive results.
  • Take an active role in the Distribution Centre community plan and encourage the team to do the same.
  • Lead the team's resource planning activities to ensure effective service to our stores.
  • Meet the needs of the team by using our people routines and delivering great leadership.
  • Deliver all operational routines and make decisions that put our customers' needs at the heart of what we do.
  • Operate in partnership with the Distribution Centre Management team to balance shared objectives and needs.
  • Analyse data and information to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
