This role at the UCLH Centre for Weight Management, Metabolic and Endocrine Surgery is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated psychologist eager to become part of a dynamic Multi-Disciplinary Team. This team comprises a variety of skilled professionals, including surgeons, dietitians, nurses, and physicians, all committed to supporting individuals dealing with weight-related issues.
Engaging in this specialty is profoundly rewarding as you will assist a demographic that frequently encounters stigma and bias due to their weight. Your responsibilities will include providing empathetic care, both before and after surgical procedures, to help individuals harmonize their self-care routines with their personal values and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the evaluation and treatment of patients referred for bariatric surgery
- Deliver psychological evaluations, therapeutic interventions, and management strategies
- Provide counsel and support to colleagues in patient management
