About the Role: Smile Education Recruitment is collaborating with a reputable educational institution to recruit four dedicated SEN Support Assistants on a temporary to permanent basis. This opportunity is designed for individuals seeking to make a meaningful impact in the educational landscape.

Ideal Candidate: This position is particularly suited for those eager to embrace new challenges within the education sector or for professionals transitioning from residential or care environments, especially those with experience in supporting individuals with additional needs.

School Environment: The institution is a co-educational special school catering to students aged 11 to 19 years, who possess an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Building strong, positive relationships with students and staff is essential for fostering success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students on an individual basis and in small groups, tailored to their specific needs.
  • Implement educational plans to ensure all students are on track to achieve their goals.
  • Exhibit reliability, flexibility, and trustworthiness, adapting to the dynamic requirements of the role.
  • Utilize professional skills to manage behavior in accordance with the school's policies.
  • Participate in necessary training and meetings to enhance your effectiveness in the role.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess recent experience in supporting children or young adults with additional needs. A minimum of Level 2 in Health & Social Care or Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred. Additionally, an enhanced DBS check is required, or candidates must be willing to apply for one.
