SEN Sports Facilitator / Educational Support Assistant

Role: SEN Sports Facilitator / Educational Support Assistant
Location: Specialist Institution
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Salary Range: £420 to £450 per week

About Our Institution:
Our Specialist Institution is committed to delivering outstanding educational experiences for students with special educational needs (SEN). We cultivate an inclusive and nurturing atmosphere where every learner can excel. We are in search of a dedicated SEN Sports Facilitator who will also take on the role of an Educational Support Assistant.

Primary Duties:

  • Assist educators in the classroom and provide individualized support to students.
  • Encourage physical engagement and healthy living among students.
  • Evaluate and track student development and offer constructive feedback.
  • Ensure a secure and inclusive environment during physical activities.
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and participate in reviews.
  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in an educational context.
  • Relevant coaching credentials or experience in sports coaching for SEN.
  • Knowledge of various types of SEN and effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • A valid enhanced child DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

All salary figures mentioned include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for a permanent role in the future.
