Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our team at Vistry North East in Newcastle upon Tyne. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for processing and maintaining accounts payable records, providing financial administrative support to regional finance teams, and ensuring timely and accurate financial information is provided in accordance with group procedures and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and maintain accounts payable records, including accurate processing, coding, and matching of invoices in accordance with group policies.
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoicing queries in a professional manner, on a timely basis, and to comply with statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with procurement, commercial teams, and sales as necessary to resolve issues.
  • Ensure all invoices have the appropriate approvals to be passed for payment.
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations, GRN/receipt processing, and filing/scanning of all invoices and paperwork to ensure appropriate records are kept.
  • Handle all post/emails related to invoices and any other associated duties.
  • Check subcontractor payments prior to release for payment and ensure VAT/CIS are correctly processed.
  • Resolve credit note issues and provide support to the finance team as required.
Requirements
  • IT literate, including MS Excel/Outlook.
  • High volume processing environment with good knowledge of end-to-end accounts payable function.
  • Ability to resolve and reconcile issues with limited supervision.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage workload.
  • Ability to communicate to all stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work as part of a wider team.
Desirable
  • COINS finance system experience.
  • Construction/Housebuilding industry experience.
