SEN Teaching Assistant Role in Levenshulme

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable secondary school in Levenshulme, Manchester. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, including those with learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, and other developmental needs.
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher to deliver tailored lessons and adapt teaching materials to meet individual student needs.
  • Assist students in staying focused and engaged in their learning, ensuring they can participate fully in classroom activities.
  • Support the implementation of personalized education plans (IEPs) and work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to monitor student progress.
  • Offer emotional and behavioral support to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage students to develop independence and confidence, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Support teachers with marking, feedback, and classroom organization to ensure all students reach their full potential.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in a school setting or through other related roles.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to different learning styles and challenges.
