Role Overview
As a Field Service Engineer within the National Response Team, your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional field-based technical support. This role involves providing high-quality assistance directly to customers across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs, on-site commissioning, servicing, and calibration of customer inspection equipment according to established processes and procedures, including on-site customer training when necessary.
- Execute upgrades and refurbishments at customer locations.
- Address on-site customer inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Adapt to various environments and adhere to local health and safety regulations.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly in line with company protocols.
- Be available for overtime work as needed.
- Participate in the on-call standby rota as required.
- Continuously enhance your knowledge of a diverse range of products.
- Provide technical assistance via phone and email as necessary.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Strong technical skills in electrical and electronics.
- Minimum ONC or equivalent qualification in electromechanical or electrical engineering.
- Experience in a field service role with a solid understanding of customer service, including commissioning, repairs, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and PC hardware is advantageous.
- Proficient in PC applications.
- Excellent organizational skills focused on delivering commitments reliably.
- Methodical problem-solving approach.
- Valid UK driving license.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, as required.
- Proven track record of success in a similar role.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with the food manufacturing sector.
- Understanding of metal detection, checkweigher, or X-ray technology.
