About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bid Estimator to join our team within our Facilities Management Business. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing tender win strategies, engaging with key supply chain organisations, and identifying opportunities for margin growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inputting a tender win strategy for each individual tender
  • Actively engaging with and developing long-term relationships with key supply chain organisations
  • Identifying opportunities for margin growth, identifying and analysing risks, and producing the associated risk register
  • Participating in post-tender interviews, presentations, and negotiations with clients and ensuring the successful handover to delivery teams following award
  • Developing innovative approaches to differentiate the bid from competitors
  • Collating targeted feedback on successful projects and providing advice for future tenders
  • Preparing submission documents in line with the bid and corporate requirements
  • Attending tender settlement meetings and ensuring all relevant cost information is available for presentation
  • Developing standard pricing templates for use in the compilation and review of bid pricing
  • Collaborating with other parts of the company to compile pricing and benchmarking data
About You
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter
  • Extensive experience of estimating from first principles within the Facilities Management market
  • Ability to challenge bid team constructively
  • Strong commercial acumen and good analytical skills
  • Collaborative attitude
  • Understanding of Conditions of Contract and Specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in risk management techniques
  • High level of commercial awareness and technical knowledge
  • Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures
  • Track record of success in supporting a major contract or Business Unit and/or providing support to a professional function
