Job Details

This is a part-time teaching assistant role, working 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 5 inset days. The salary scale is HLT Scale 1a, points 2-3, with a pro rata salary of £16,728 - £17,006.

Job Summary

This is a varied role, working one-to-one with a child, providing support and assistance with their learning. The ideal candidate will be committed, adaptable, and caring, with a professional manner, and be able to demonstrate creativity, resilience, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to a child, helping them to understand and engage with their learning
  • Assist with the child's daily needs, including personal care and travel between classrooms
  • Work with the class teacher to identify areas of need and develop strategies to support the child's progress
  • Communicate effectively with the child, their family, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment

Requirements
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and maths
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
