Reed Education is currently supporting several day nurseries in the area with their recruitment needs. These nurseries are looking for bank staff who can cover staff absences at short notice. Opportunities are available to work in various rooms within the nursery, including babies, toddlers, and pre-school.

Roles will have varied hours and flexibility is a requirement. Day nurseries generally operate from 7:30am to 6:15pm, offering options for half days. The roles are suitable for nursery nurses, teaching assistants with any level of qualification, and early years practitioners. It is essential to have experience working with children and hold a clear, enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply for one through Reed).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising children during play, naps, and mealtimes
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety
  • Building positive relationships with children, staff, parents, and outside agencies
  • Effective communication
  • Following safeguarding procedures correctly

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children (essential)
  • Teaching assistant qualification (desirable)
  • DBS registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one)
