Job Overview
This is an exceptional opportunity to join Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and contribute to the healthcare services at one of the UK's largest correctional facilities. Your role will be pivotal in delivering high-quality primary care and addiction recovery services to our diverse population.
Working with offenders presents unique challenges, as they often have intricate healthcare requirements and a history of disengagement from community health services. With prevalent issues of substance dependency and mental health disorders, this position offers a meaningful chance to effect positive change.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of our dedicated nursing team within the prison, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary group to provide the following services: Primary Care services, including initial custody assessments, secondary evaluations, nursing clinics, chronic condition management, and health promotion; Inpatient Unit; Emergency Response; and Addiction Recovery nursing services. You will be supported by a welcoming team of healthcare professionals in a dynamic environment where each day brings new experiences.
We are seeking a Band 6 nurse from diverse backgrounds. While experience with patients facing substance misuse and mental health challenges, or in a correctional setting, is advantageous, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training and support will be provided.
