Nurse Specialist in Neuroendocrine Tumour Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Nurse to join our small Neuroendocrine Tumour (NET) Clinical Nurse Specialist team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This is a regional NET Specialist team supporting patients from across the Yorkshire region with Neuroendocrine tumours.
About the RoleAs a Nurse Specialist in Neuroendocrine Tumour Care, you will work as part of the team to provide advanced nursing expertise, caring for patients, carers, and their families to help them understand their diagnosis and treatment plan. You will work with a team of healthcare professionals as part of the wider NET MDT, including Medical and Surgical teams, and liaise with these teams to enable quality individualised care for patients with a Neuroendocrine Tumour.
Main Duties- Deputise for the Band 7 CNS
- Contribute to service development
- Support twice weekly MDT
- Be a key worker and first point of call for specialist advice, education, and support for patients
- Provide health education and self-management guidance to help prevent complications and acute admissions to hospital
- Support adherence to treatment
- Nurse-led holistic clinics
- Support NET inpatients

Job RequirementsThe successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing, with experience in Neuroendocrine Tumour care. They will be able to work autonomously, planning the care of a caseload of patients, but will be well-supported by a more experienced CNS. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, and will be able to work as part of a team to deliver high-quality care.
Person SpecificationThe successful candidate will have:
- Registered Nurse (RN Adult) qualification
- Recognised teaching/assessing qualification or equivalent experience of teaching and assessment
- Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable qualifications include a post-registration qualification in specialty and degree-level education or evidence of working towards. The ideal candidate will have significant and recent relevant experience working as a Band 5 Staff Nurse or equivalent post-registration experience within the specialty.
