About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Improvement Lead to join our team at NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care Board. As a key member of our Quality Team, you will play a vital role in driving forward key elements of improvement activity, supporting requests for improvement activities, and providing advice and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Quality Team and other senior leaders to drive forward key elements of improvement activity.
  • Support requests for improvement activities, scoping events, and provide advice and support.
  • Develop and deliver a range of programmes that further build organisational capacity and capability, embedding quality improvement tools and techniques.
  • Play a key role in the delivery of the Quality team's objectives, including:
    • Appraising the team capability available against the support required to drive priority improvement activities.
    • Agreeing and developing plans to put in place a standard set of skills and tools that we will use to support transformation programmes.
    • Developing and implementing a sustainable improvement plan.
    • Developing a repository of improvement work that enables teams to showcase their talents.
  • Support service reviews and the development of new models of care and patient pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels within the organisation to identify quality improvement opportunities, sharing and spreading best practice and opportunities.
  • Lead specific programmes of work that support targeted improvement activities.
  • Lead improvement events that are directly aligned to the strategic objectives of the organisation.
  • Coach and mentor staff undertaking continuous improvement training.
  • Prepare reports and case studies to demonstrate outcomes of improvement events to share learning for internal and external use.
  • Prepare presentations and award submissions in relation to continuous improvement and promote this work through local and national forums.
  • Quality assure improvement programmes of work, ensuring that alignment with Quality Improvement methodology is maintained.
Requirements
  • A recognised qualification in transformational change and improvement.
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent level of proven experience.
  • Significant experience in improvement methodologies having taken on the role as lead facilitator in six or more improvement projects.
  • Engagement with multi-professional groups and staff at all levels.
  • Good presentation skills delivering improvement methodologies to large multi-professional groups.
  • Development of outstanding relationships, able to communicate effectively on issues in a variety of different ways.
