About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Laboratory Technician to join our team at BAM Nuttall. As a Senior Laboratory Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of materials testing and laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate laboratory testing and sampling activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Collaborate with laboratory managers and engineers to ensure the provision of testing capabilities and to communicate priorities and testing requirements.
  • Produce high-quality test reports and certificates for clients.
  • Deliver training and proficiency checks to laboratory personnel.
  • Ensure that laboratory testing and sampling are carried out to high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and proper records to satisfy laboratory management system and UKAS requirements.
  • Ensure that test equipment is checked, cleaned, and maintained to an acceptable level.
Requirements
  • Educated to Level 3 NVQ standard or similar experience.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS an advantage.
  • CSCS card.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Experience of soils sampling and site/laboratory testing in accordance with BS 1377, including use of Nuclear Density Gauge, In-situ Plate Load Apparatus, In-situ Sand Replacement Density, earthworks, and laboratory shear strength triaxial testing.
  • Materials/Aggregate sampling/laboratory testing in accordance with all relevant standards.
  • Concrete/Spray Concrete sampling/testing in accordance with all relevant standards.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025.
