About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team at Allen & York. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our sustainability strategy, focusing on achieving net zero and other sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of Scope 1 and 2 targets and oversee the implementation of the Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO14001.
  • Develop and implement initiatives and innovations to reduce carbon emissions and improve sustainability performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage two direct line reports and provide guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Develop and implement KPIs to measure sustainability performance and track progress towards goals.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in environmental management and sustainability roles, with a strong understanding of environmental legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform sustainability decisions.
  • Experience working in the waste management sector and knowledge of closed-loop systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
