Childcare Practitioner Trainee

Realise is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Childcare Practitioner Trainee to join our team. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to advance their skills in early childhood education while working towards a Level 3 qualification.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement engaging play activities that cater to the unique needs and interests of children.
- Facilitate activities that foster children's development in numeracy, literacy, and language.
- Act as a key person to ensure children feel secure, valued, and supported.
- Conduct observations to assess the evolving needs of children and tailor activities accordingly, in alignment with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Manage care routines, including nappy changing, toileting, and feeding, with compassion and respect.
- Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and other professionals to address the individual needs of each child.
- Promote the welfare and safety of children, reporting any safeguarding concerns to the designated supervisor.
- Engage in Continuous Professional Development opportunities throughout the apprenticeship.
- Support children during transitions, such as starting school or welcoming a new sibling, using your understanding of their needs.
- Complete apprenticeship requirements in a timely manner, working closely with your mentor and Trainer Assessor.
- Ensure equitable access to opportunities for all children, promoting inclusivity.
Essential Skills:
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Effective time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Level 1 in Maths and English (grade 3).
- Level 2 qualification in Childcare or a minimum of 12 months experience in an early years environment.
- Alternative option: A 6-week Skills Bootcamp for suitable candidates.
Your responsibilities will be outlined by your employer, with comprehensive on-the-job training provided by Realise. You will engage in 20% off-the-job learning integrated into your work schedule. The apprenticeship will cover:
- Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours
- Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
- Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Emergency Paediatric First Aid
- Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (if necessary)
- Passionate about early childhood education.
- Empathetic and understanding.
- Kind and nurturing.
- Committed to professional growth.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be equipped as a highly skilled Early Years Educator. Opportunities for advancement may include roles such as Room Leader or specialized positions like Special Educational Needs Coordinator or Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Additional InformationAn enhanced DBS check will be required as part of the recruitment process.
