About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Specialist to join our Early Intervention in Psychosis service at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist EIP Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing specialist advice and support to individuals experiencing their first episode of psychosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist community outreach services for individuals with suspected psychosis, including assessment, care coordination, and support to family members and carers.
  • Develop and lead therapeutic interventions for service users with a range of mental health difficulties, including individual therapy and family interventions.
  • Conduct specialist clinical assessments, including the use of standardized assessment measures, to identify individuals at risk of developing psychosis.
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines and agencies to ensure best practice is shared and to promote effective interventions.
  • Participate in relevant Trust clinical governance initiatives and contribute to the development of high standards for the delivery of care.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in mental health, preferably with a qualification in nursing, social work, or occupational therapy. The ideal candidate will have significant post-registration experience in multi-disciplinary community mental health services and a good understanding of Early Interventions principles and research.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to a range of people and professionals. They will also be able to work autonomously and independently, with a high level of professionalism and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
