Neonatal Care Nurse

Position Overview
The role involves evaluating, strategizing, and executing care requirements for a designated group of specialized care infants and their families, operating independently.
The individual will deliver a superior level of direct nursing care.
This position includes overseeing and mentoring junior and unqualified staff members, facilitating their continuous professional development.
The successful candidate will be an adept communicator, engaging closely with all service users to enhance the well-being of the infants.
This is a developmental role aimed at creating a personalized pathway towards achieving qualified Neonatal Nurse status.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care to special care infants and their families.
- Engage in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care provided to individual infants and their families.
- Support parents and caregivers in building confidence through assistance and guidance, preparing them for their baby's discharge.
- Administer prescribed medications safely and monitor their effects.
- Respond promptly to any adverse reactions or deterioration in the infant's condition, providing support to the team during such events.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT).

Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Sick Children's Nurse (RSCN), or Registered Midwife (RM).
- Strong commitment to neonatal nursing and the ability to undertake specialized training modules.
- Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working within the NHS and familiarity with the operations of a Neonatal Unit.
- Computer literacy.
- Experience collaborating with diverse backgrounds and cultures, particularly in sharing care responsibilities with parents.
