Position: Advanced Teaching Assistant (HLTA, Reading and Vocabulary)
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent, Full-Time

A secondary educational institution rated as GOOD by Ofsted is in search of a passionate and skilled Advanced Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to contribute to their educational team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist educators in the design and execution of stimulating and effective lesson plans.
  • Lead targeted small group sessions and provide individualized support to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared instructional materials in the absence of the primary educator.
  • Facilitate the advancement of students' literacy and numeracy competencies.
  • Collaborate with teaching personnel to evaluate student progress and offer constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of educational programs and initiatives.
  • Support the preparation of classroom resources and instructional materials.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive educational environment for all learners.

Requirements:

  • HLTA certification or equivalent qualification.
  • Prior experience in a secondary educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and educational standards.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for fostering students' academic and personal growth.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to cater to the diverse needs of learners.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one prior to starting the role).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing small group interventions and one-on-one support.
  • Understanding of special educational needs (SEN) and strategies to assist students with additional requirements.
  • First Aid certification or willingness to pursue training.

All quoted remuneration rates will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advertisement pertains to a temporary role, with the potential for permanent placement in the future.
