Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive secondary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons that foster effective learning.
  • Lead small group interventions and provide individualized support to enhance student comprehension and progress.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons confidently when covering classes in the absence of the teacher.
  • Play a vital role in developing students' literacy and numeracy skills, ensuring they build a strong foundation for academic success.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to assess student progress, providing constructive feedback that guides their learning journey.
  • Contribute actively to the planning and implementation of educational programs and activities that enrich the curriculum.
  • Assist in preparing classroom materials and resources, creating a stimulating and organized learning environment.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.

Requirements:

  • Possess HLTA status or an equivalent qualification.
  • Have previous experience working in a secondary school setting, demonstrating a strong understanding of the educational landscape.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the national curriculum and relevant educational frameworks.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with students, teachers, and colleagues.
  • Be a team player, capable of working collaboratively and independently to achieve shared goals.
  • Show a genuine passion for supporting student learning and development, fostering their academic growth and well-being.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students in a dynamic learning environment.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS check (or be willing to undergo one prior to commencing the role).

Desirable:

  • Experience in delivering small group interventions and providing one-to-one support, tailoring instruction to individual needs.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) and strategies to effectively support students with additional learning requirements.
  • First Aid training or a willingness to undertake such training, demonstrating commitment to student safety and well-being.
