We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as Head of Commercial Policy and Government Relations. As a key member of our Corporate Affairs function, you will play a critical role in shaping our commercial strategy and influencing policy decisions that impact our business.

About the Role

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive government relations strategy to support our commercial growth plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key government officials, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to advance our interests.
  • Provide strategic counsel to our senior leadership team on commercial policy issues and their impact on our business.
  • Lead the development of our public policy agenda and ensure its alignment with our commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with our Industry and Communications teams to identify and capitalize on commercial opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a network of political and policy-making community supporters for Trainline.
  • Provide internal counsel to our Brand, Product, Tech, and Data teams on interaction with government, political, and policy communities.

About You

  • Deep experience in government relations and policy with a proven track record of influencing policy and political debate.
  • Strong network of personal contacts within the government and beyond.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take an innovative, integrated approach to strategic policy execution.
  • Commercial acumen and budget responsibility.
  • Understanding of data-led organizations and audience analysis.
  • Experience in broader corporate communication, financial communications, reputation management, and crisis communication.
