Job Title: Art Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Art Teacher to join our team at Empowering Learning. As an Art Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education to our students, inspiring creativity and artistic expression.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Art and Design to students across the school, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, and contributing to the strategic direction of the subject area. You will work closely with colleagues to enhance Art pedagogy and practice, providing expertise in delivering exceptional lessons and supporting the school in raising standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Art and Design to students across the school, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of all students.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the subject area, developing and implementing plans to enhance Art pedagogy and practice.
  • Work closely with colleagues to provide expertise in delivering exceptional lessons and supporting the school in raising standards of teaching and learning.
  • Support the school in implementing agreed whole school policies and initiatives, including pupil tracking and feedback practices.
  • Plan and facilitate professional learning workshops as requested.
Requirements:
  • Hold a teaching qualification.
  • Hold a degree or equivalent.
  • Have outstanding teaching practice.
  • Have excellent behaviour management.
  • Have experience in lesson observations and giving robust feedback.
  • Have experience in improvement planning.
  • Have experience in implementing a range of strategies to raise student achievement, with evidence of success.
  • Contribution to impact on the quality of learning and teaching and curriculum.
  • A proven track record of excellent results at KS3/4.
  • Have experience of high-quality pupil tracking and feedback practices.
