Position Overview

Avante Care & Support is a charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of older individuals through our specialized nursing and dementia care facilities, as well as home care services.

We are currently on the lookout for a Head Chef to join our esteemed residential care establishment. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to their needs.

As a Chef, you will take charge of a committed team of kitchen professionals, ensuring that meals are not only delicious but also beautifully presented, while respecting the diverse dietary requirements of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the Home Manager, residents, and care staff to design appealing menus.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and training to kitchen personnel, ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health & safety standards.
  • Preparing and cooking meals using fresh, frozen, and pre-packaged ingredients.
  • Managing inventory and verifying deliveries against orders.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing a catering service, including team leadership.
  • Understanding of the unique dietary needs of the elderly.
  • Possession of an Environmental Health Certificate in Food Hygiene.
  • Relevant Level 2 food/catering qualification, with a commitment to pursue Level 3 within three months of employment.
