About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to lead and expand our team of ecologists in Redhill. As an Ecology Team Leader, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide portfolio of projects, from nationally significant infrastructure projects to landscape-scale restoration.
Our portfolio of work includes flood, coastal, and maritime projects, as well as other sectors such as ports, water utilities, transport, and renewable power. You will be responsible for mentoring and guiding more junior ecologists, helping to drive the ecological capability and innovation of our national team, and managing all stages of Ecological Impact Assessment.
You will also provide ecological input into planning, HRA, and other consents, oversee protected species licence applications and mitigation, design habitat restoration/creation schemes, and deliver Biodiversity Net Gain.
Qualifications/Requirements
The ideal candidate will have an ecological/environmental related degree, be a Chartered Ecologist or Environmentalist, and hold a protected species licence or have another ecological specialism.
They will also have proven experience in ecological impact assessment, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a full UK driving licence. Previous consultancy experience is desirable.
